Janie graduated from Roger Williams University and holds a master's degree in community development. She began working as an advocate and organizer with and on behalf of families like hers who wanted nothing more than a chance to succeed. Janie founded Stop the Wait RI and organized over 400 parents to defeat a proposed three-year moratorium on charter school expansions in Rhode Island in 2021. Janie's goal is to show her two daughters, Destiny (14) and Kailani (7), that anything is possible.
