Join us for a one-day, hands-on training where community members learn how to run for office, understand how local campaigns really work, and explore how to play a major leadership role on a political campaign.

This Saturday I spent the day in a campaign training with Stop the Wait RI. What stood out most wasn’t just the tactics — fundraising, door knocking, messaging — but the framing. Civic engagement was treated like a skill. Something you can practice. Sharpen. Get better at. That matters. Too often we talk about participation like it’s a personality trait instead of something communities can actually be taught and supported in doing. Grateful for spaces that invest in people this way and make the work feel learnable, not intimidating.
